These 3 values are used to calculate the angle of the corners of a triangle.
Here is how you can calculate them if you know the lengths of the corners.
Code: Select all
                y-axis
            ___|___
          .-   |    -.A
        .-     |    /|-.
       /       |   / |  \
      |        |  /  |   |
               | /   |    |
    ___________|/____|____|___
               |O    B        x-axis
               |
               |
               |
               |
               |

                AB
     sin(AOB) = --
                OA

                OB
     cos(AOB) = --
                OA

                sin(AOB)   AB/OA   AB
     tan(AOB) = -------- = ----- = --
                cos(AOB)   OB/OA   OB

And here's a table with values

that reminds me of my History test

i didnt study enough, so i was clueless during the test, had nothing to write down.

but i had to wait so i did an old math equation. :)

Ooookay I try to explain it in layman terms

You know a circle.
round, and goes around for 360 degrees.
then draw a line from the center of the circle to the edge and imagine it turning around.

The baseline is that the y -coordinate of the end of the turning line is the sinus of an angle.
The same applies to the cosinus, only it is the x- coordinate being the cosinus of an angle.

The tangent is the sinus divided by the coninus.
Thus if it is at 90 degrees. THe sinus is 1 the cosinus is 0 THe tangent is infintely high.

VERY VERY IMPORTANT. This is usually derived from the radial system. E.g. a circle is 2pi all around..

Wikipedia has a good animation of it

Stands for the height or length a line is when positioned at a certain angle
