Genetic Information Calculator

Welcome to the Human Genetic Information Calculator,

The amount of data that the human body holds is absolutely baffling,
from the Trillions of cells in your body, each one of them contains 1.4Gb of information!

This calculator will roughly calculate the sum of genetic information that you have stored in the DNA of all your cells.

To find out how much data you hold, all you have to do is fill in your mass (in Kg).

Please note that this calculator is calibrated to humans and will not give a valid result on any other life form.

Some of the facts used in this calculator are:

One base pair(AT, CG, TA or GC) holds 2 bits.
A diploid cell has 6 billion base pairs.
Every cell has 1.4 Gb of genetic information.
The amount of cells in the human body is debated to be either 10, 50 or 100 trillion. We took the average of 53.33 Trillion.
The weight of a human cell is 10E-11 Kg.
